Spyderco T-Mag – C115

Description: The T-Mag was an innovation by Spyderco and Ralph Turnbull to create a folder that uses a Rare Earth magnet to hold the knife blade open. The magnet engages when the blade is open, offering a small amount of resistance from closing, similar to a slipjoint. Liners on this model are Titanium as well, increasing the price. The Knife was discontinued very shortly, and was not a popular design. Secondary prices for the blade were much less than the street price. Nevertheless, it is an interesting design.

I heard that this knife was designed for the people in the Uk and other places where the knife laws are strict and do not allow knives that lock.

I don’t think that’s this knife.. the knife you are thinking of is the UK Pen Knife and other knives like it such as the Spyderco Urban:

Since the UK Penknife was produced before the T-mag, my guess was that it was influenced by it… just a guess though 😉 I think it would be neat to compare them side by side.
