Model Name: Sage Model Reference: C123 Designer: Sal Glesser, Blackie Collins, Al Mar MSRP: $179.95 (CF), $265.95 (Ti), $199.95 (Bolt Action) Description: The Spyderco Sage is a folder that is supposed to be a tribute to different locking methods from different makers over time. As of this writing, there are only two versions available, a Titanium Frame Lock and Carbon Fiber Liner Lock version available. The Knife is made in Taiwan using US-made CPM-S30V Steel.
The Third Generation of the Sage introduces a newly designed Bolt-Action Lock by Blackie Collins. This is a significant improvement over previous models and allows super-smooth opening and spydie drops as well as a solid Steel Locking Mechanism.
The Forth Generation Sage was introduced in early 2012 and features a change in lock type again to a mid-lock designed by the late Al Mar. This knife features a lock designed by Mar and McBurnette and beautiful Arizona Ironwood handles.

Because of this, these models are not often talked about. The Citadel Jr. is a high quality side-opening automatic using premium steel made in the USA like all the S&S models.
Model Name: Saver Salt Model Reference: C118 Designer: Sal Glesser MSRP: $94.95 Description: The Saver Salt is Spyderco’s H-1 variation of the C45 79mm Rescue and is identical except for the use of H-1 Rustproof steel. The Citadel is made in the USA, and a restricted item and thus is not often seen in the wild. Spyderco chose not to let their Automatic products be carried by typical dealers for sale to the general public, presumably due to legal reasons.
Model Name: SuperHawk Model Reference: C116 Designer: Sal Glesser MSRP: $269.95 Description: The SuperHawk is Spyderco’s high-end Fully flat-ground Hawkbill knife. Lightly textured Carbon Fiber handles and stainless steel liners with Compression lock make this folder a truly state-of-the-art knife. Has a left and right mountable wire pocket clip.
Model Name: T-Mag Model Reference: C115 Designer: Ralph Turnbull MSRP: $249.95 Description: The T-Mag was an innovation by Spyderco and Ralph Turnbull to create a folder that uses a Rare Earth magnet to hold the knife blade open. The magnet engages when the blade is open, offering a small amount of resistance from closing, similar to a slipjoint. Liners on this model are Titanium as well, increasing the price. The Knife was discontinued very shortly, and was not a popular design. Secondary prices for the blade were much less than the street price. Nevertheless, it is an interesting design.
