Model Name: Howard Viele Model Reference: C42 Designer: Howard Viele MSRP: $139.95 Description: Master knifemaker Howard Viele’s collaboration with Spyderco is truly a masterpeice and beautifully constructed knife. Signature Viele styling cues including his three hole mark are evident on the blade. This knife is discontinued but was brought back in a smaller version with the C97 Viele II.
Model Name: Native Model Reference: C41 Designer: Sal Glesser MSRP: $99.95 (FRN, 2009), $94.95 (SS, 2004), $139.95 (G-10), $259.95 (CF, 2009), $$399.95 (TIF) Description: The Native was created as an ergonomic knife with double deep finger choils to allow choking up on the knife blade. There are five generations of the Spyderco Native with the fourth and fifth generation having Screw Construction. The third Generation Native has 3-D textured handles and is model numbered C78. The fifth generation Natives feature G-10 handles and new super steel CPM-S35VN.
Model Name: Jot Singh Khalsa Model Reference: C40 Designer: Jot Singh Khalsa MSRP: $134.95, $299.95 (2013) Description: The Spyderco Jot Singh Khalsa was only made from 1997-1999 and had an extremely unique look characteristic of the kind of designs that JSK makes. Production Problems forced this knife to be removed from the 2000 Spyderco Catalog. 2013 saw a sprint run of this folder in textured G-10 and VG-10 steel, also made in Japan.
Model Name: Dyad Jr., Mini Dyad, Gemini Model Reference: C39 Designer: Sal Glesser MSRP: $85.95 (Micarta), $69.95 (FRN) Description: The C39 Dyad Jr. has undergone a few name changes from Gemini, to Mini Dyad to Dyad Jr. and finally to Dyad Jr. Lightweight when it was made in an FRN version, and lost its pocket clip. The Dyad Jr. is one of the few Spyderco models available with multiple blades, and has two locking blades.
Model Name: Jess Horn Lightweight Model Reference: C38 Designer: Jess Horn MSRP: $69.95 (1997), $104.95 (2006) Description: The Jess Horn Lightweight is an affordable version of the Jess Horn II C34 folder. The C38 has uniquely textured FRN Scales that feature Jess Horn’s signature repeated on the handles. 2006 saw a 1200-peice sprint run of the C38 folder in burgundy micarta and ZDP-189/420J2 laminated steel blades.
Model Name: Michael Walker Lightweight Model Reference: C37 Designer: Michael Walker MSRP: $64.95 Description: The C37 Michael Walker Lightweight is the lightweight FRN version of the original C22 Walker Linerlock. From 1997 to 1999 the lightweight FRN was numbered C37, after which they renamed the model to C22PBK and C22PSBK to consolidate their model numbers.
Model Name: Military Model Reference: C36 Designer: Sal Glesser MSRP: $239.95 (2009), $174.95 (1996) Description: The Spyderco Military, or Millie as it is called by many fans, is a lightweight hard-use folder made to endure the stresses that a Military user might put it through. The folder has a lightweight G-10 linerless frame, with an inset Titanium locking liner. The blade steel was originally ATS-34 but was updated to S30V on standard models, with many special limited and sprint runs using various high-end steels such as BG-42 and CPM-D2.
Model Name: Q Model Reference: C35 Designer: Sal Glesser MSRP: $49.95 Description: The Spyderco Q was made as a affordable and lightweight knife with a laster cut blade that was made from 440C stainless steel. The Blade was available to be custom cut with your company logo on it or other design if you comissioned a certain number of blades produced. There exist at least 50 different cutout variations for the blade, not including blade edge variations and handle color variations. The spring lock is unique and patented, though not very reliable. The knife was originally called the Silhouette.

This model has Micarta handles and was also released by A.G. Russell in smaller version as special edition batches in addition to the regular run.
Model Name: Pro-Grip Model Reference: C33 Designer: Sal Glesser MSRP: $72.95 (1994-1999) Description: The C33 was the Lightweight FRN version of the Spyderco Pro-Grip C13. The C33 model designation was eventually retired and the Lightweight FRN Pro-Grip changed to a C13 model designation in 1999.
