Spyderco Civilian / Matriarch – C12

Civilian

Matriarch2

Model Name: Civilian and Matriarch
Model Reference: C12
Designer: Sal Glesser
MSRP: $249.95 (2009)
Description: The Spyderco Civilian is designed as a pure self-defense knife, with a very long 4 1/8″ long blade. It has a recurve hook blade that is very effective for self-defense applications, but this also makes it very thin and easy to damage when used under moderate stress.

The C12 designation is also used for the Spyderco Matriarch, which is the FRN handled version of this knife. The Matriarch was available with a hollow grind as well as flat ground versions and was designed as a self-defense folder for women. The second generation Matriarch2 has introduced a new FRN handle that is the same as the one used on the Endura4.
